EU Energy Law & Policy Workshop
05 Feb 2016
The workshop is designed to foster discussion on issues of particular importance for national regulatory authorities and to facilitate the sharing of experience and best practice.
This year’s workshop will be divided into 3 sessions. The opening session will consider climate policy after COP 21, examining the implications of the agreement and the future of the EU ETS. In the second session, we will consider the recent developments in the EU security of gas supply, with a representative from the Commission discussing the recent developments at EU level and the issue of gas storage. We will also examine pipelines and EU security, focusing on the Baumgarten case. The third, and final, session will center on the challenge of defining regions in the context of the Energy Union, from both an industrial and academic perspective. In particular, we will look at price control areas, particularly the Germany- Austria border. The sessions will be complemented by a keynote speech on market coupling and the power trading regions of Europe.
